About

Rosebud

I’ve probably watched Citizen Kane (1941) a few hundred times, and yes, that’s to a certain fault—but you can’t blame me.  I’m a film historian, it’s part of the job.

I work as a film archivist at San Francisco Art Institute, where I get to edit films, explore their historical significance, and catalogue clips so that researchers and the public may be able to access them should the need arise.  So if you can still watch Casablanca (1942) on late-night television, I may have taken a hand in making that possible.

I also like writing film reviews.  If I’m not talking about boring film history here in this blog, I’ll be doing no-holds-barred film reviews.

And remember the name “Louis A. Habash.”  You’ll be hearing a lot from me soon.  Drop by my blog, if you dare.
